JOB FUNCTION – REQUIREMENTS - SUCCESSFACTORS

Support the Mechanical installation activities of the C&R Engineering Group in China. The incumbent must plan,direct, coordinate, and execute installation schedules forprojects requiring considerable engineering knowledge and experience, whichresult in the installation of operating work
centersand/or complete Greenfield facilities in support of C&R's technical andmarket growth objectives in China. The incumbent is responsible for the meetingof the installation project time lines and budgetconstraints, as well ensuring compliance with all safety and China regulations.

The mission of the Engineering Group is toprovide a broad range of engineering and technical service needs primarily tothe

manufacturing facilities of the C&RBusinesses throughout China. More specifically, the major areas involve: (1)basic design and process control engineering for new or revised processes orfacilities; (2) providing consulting services to the plants for improvement ornew projects; (3) providing project definition and management of outsideengineering efforts for project design; (4) providing installation supervisionand startup assistance for major projects; (5) Ensure that contractors complywith all aspects of the Worksite EHS Plan and policy; site regulations, permitto work and Client requirements;(6)Ensue that construction contractors adhereto the latest approved for construction project drawings, specifications,procedures and site instructions; (7)Supervise and coordinate the activities of installationcontractors. Maintain daily supervisory surveillance checks and records ;(8) Ensureproper change control by issuing Field Instructions for all changes, reviewingTechnical Queries to ensure responses are appropriate and practical, andreviewing Advanced Revision notices prior to issue to contractors to ensurecorrect use of construction resources;  (10)Ensurethat contractors are working in the required work areas, locations andelevations and that work sequence and interfaces with other contactors are bothco-ordinated and planned to provide continuous working to meet contractschedules;(11) Ensure that all construction materials, embedded items, specialfixtures are approved for use and that they are stored, protected and availableto workface locations as required; (12) Maintain site diary to reflect an accuraterecord of the status of works surveillance and inspections performed,contractor manpower and deployment etc. The Supervisors diary is to beavailable for reference and retained until such time as all of the Contractsare closed.

In addition all facility and design planswill reflect our goal to create increased flexibility in manufacturing andimplement Lean

Manufacturing concepts.

Requires:

ABS/MS or equivalent in experience in Mechnical Engineering ispreferred. Other discipline considerations include Chemical Engineering, orElectrical Engineering. A professional certificate in Project Management is aplus. The candidate should possess good English speaking skills in addition to Chinese.The candidate should be conversant in MS Project or have the ability to be so.  Five years of Coatings manufacturing,engineering, and/or construction experience are all positives in this job.

Thisposition may impact on multi million dollar projects for the company. Thisposition generally supervises multiple contracted construction disciplines(Civil, Installation, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument, and HVAC) and must beable to interact with the engineering team and contracted engineering vendors.The incumbent will have at least one subordinate technical support person, oneclerical person  and reports to the projectmanager along with other project teams varying in size and structure asrequired.
