Position: Industrial Engineer (Process Engineer)

Location: Shanghai

Report to: Plant Manager

Purpose of the job

1. Safe operation of the plant: Ensure adequate process safety input in improve projects. Facilitate MOC procedure. Ensure integrity of process control and safeguarding systems.

2. Improve plant: Initiate and execute plant improve actions in the field of asset utilization, quality consistency, efficiency and equipment reliability.

3. Small projects: Propose and execute small projects within the targets set (cost/timing/compliant)

4. Process control: Ensure that DCS and supporting systems are configured and maintained to provide the required level of reliability. Provide SOP and training to operating staff on batch execution.

5. Technical support to production: Analyzing and Troubleshooting of deviations in plant operation.

Job Content

1. To be responsible for Safety, Health and Environment within his/her own areas and promote / contribute to safe working practices at all times

2. He/she observes the SHE regulations and fulfils a warning function when regulations are not met or when a dangerous situation occurs.

3. He/she observes the Security regulations, takes care to be aware, trained and completed formal registration (e.g. Non Disclosure Agreement) and fulfils a warning function when regulations are not met or when an insecure situation occurs.

4. Analyze the performance of equipment and processes compared with targets and improvement plans and propose improvements and modifications in order to improve plant (i.e. process efficiency, yield, utilities, quality consistency etc.).

5. Improve plant using MOC procedure in compliance with legal and DSM requirements.

6. Process safety in operation and project execution with the prescribed functioning of PSLC roles.

7. Optimized and reliable operation of process control and safeguarding systems.

8. Maintaining and training of batch execution SOP’s.

9. Execution of small projects within agreed limits of budget and time reaching the intended objective.

10. Compliance to applicable manufacturing requirements.

Requirements

1. Bachelor or Master degree in Chemical engineering

2. Knowledge on Batch processing technology

3. Familiar with Delta V DCS operation and configuration

4. More than 2 years of experience in chemical process operation, preferably batch operation of resin products and/or emulsions.
