OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The Piping Engineer is responsible for and has to coordinate all activities related to piping discipline, including
materials, piping routing and calculation, within a piping investment project volume up to
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support the Project/Engineering Manager with regard to piping engineering issues.
2. Coordinate, monitor & control all piping design activities towards contractors
3. Provide technical expertise and support to the Piping engineering team.
4. Establish and keep close contact to the related engineering discipline at BASF globally e.g. headquarter
Germany (good English skills required).
5. Prepare Mechanical Data Sheets for Mechanical Safety Equipment
6. Evaluate Technical Bids from Supplier
7. Check of Vendor Drawings for Mechanical Safety Devices
8. Perform Vendor shop audits and visits
9. Supervise Quality, Cost and Schedule for piping discipline in a Project
10. Shall coordinate within the Piping and other disciplines for all aspects of piping engineering
11. Implementation of improvement measures
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor degree with major study in in Process/Chemical engineering mandatory - Master degree will be an
advantage
2. At least more than 5 years work experiences in chemical and petrochemical industry
3. Skilled in chemical engineering mandatory; Shall have a deep knowledge about material and design Codes
(GB, HG, SH, ASTM, ASME);
4. Open minded active, creative team-player and self-motivated.
5. Skilled in relevant softwares/tools (3D planning tools like PDS or PDMS and knowledge with special
software (e.g. CAESAR II preferable)
6. Proficient spoken and written English and Chinese (mandarin) skills
